Design Guidelines for NCR Products

NCR pads, sets and books,

When creating artwork for NCR products, it’s crucial to account for non-printable areas on the page. These areas, located around the perimeter of the page, are where grippers hold the paper during printing. As a result, ink cannot be applied to these zones.

Using the Artwork Template

To help you prepare your artwork correctly, we provide artwork templates. Each template clearly indicates the non-printable areas, ensuring your design stays within the printable space.

Submitting Your Artwork

When supplying your artwork for print, we require two files:

  1. Artwork with the template overlaid – This file helps us confirm the design aligns with the printable area.
  2. Artwork only – A clean version of your design without the template overlay, ready for printing.

To ensure a smooth printing process, it’s essential to follow these key requirements when designing for NCR products:

No Background Colours or Borders

We cannot accept designs that include a background colour or border around the edges of the artwork. If submitted, these designs will be automatically rejected.

Adjusting Designs with Borders

If your design includes a border:

  • Knock out any elements that extend into the non-printable areas.
  • Alternatively, it is preferable to remove all borders around the edges entirely.

Drilling Guidelines for NCR Products

If you choose to include drill holes on your NCR print, follow these guidelines to ensure your design is compatible with the drilling process.

Drill Hole Requirements

  • A 20mm safe zone is required on the side where the drill holes will be placed.
  • Keep all text, graphics, and background elements clear of this safe zone to avoid interference with the drill holes.

Submitting Your Artwork

When supplying your print files, please provide two files:

  1. Artwork with the template overlaid – This ensures your design aligns correctly with the drill hole placement.
  2. Artwork only – A clean version of your design without the template overlay, ready for printing.
