How to Open .ase Files (Adobe Swatch Exchange)

You can only use .ase palettes on certain designer software. To add these swatch palettes into your chosen program, follow the instructions below. 

 

Adobe Illustrator

  1. Open the Swatches panel.
    • If not visible, go to Window > Swatches.
  2. Click the hamburger menu in the top right corner.
  3. Select Open Swatch Library > Other Library....
  4. Choose your .ase file.

Adobe InDesign

  1. Open the Swatches panel.
    • If not visible, go to Window > Color > Swatches.
  2. Click the hamburger menu in the top right corner.
  3. Select Load Swatches.
  4. Choose your .ase file.

Affinity Designer & Photo

  1. Open the Swatches panel.
    • If not visible, go to Window > Swatches.
  2. Click the hamburger menu in the top right corner.
  3. Select Import Palette... > As Application Palette.
  4. Choose your .ase file.
