T-Shirt Artwork Guide

How to Set Up Artwork for Basic T-Shirts

Our T-shirts are printed using Direct To Garment (DTG) technology in CMYK colour. Follow these simple steps to get your artwork ready for print.

Choose Your T-Shirt and Print Position

Before you start designing, decide where you want your artwork to appear:

  • Back Centre: 30 x 35cm
  • Front Centre: 30 x 35cm
  • Front Left Chest: 10 x 10cm
  • Front Left & Back Centre: 10 x 10cm (front), 30 x 35cm (back)
  • Front & Back Centre: 30 x 35cm (front and back)

Make sure to select the correct print position when placing your order.

Download the Right Template

Head to the Templates section on the product page. Find the template that matches your selected T-shirt and print position. Use professional design software such as Adobe Illustrator or InDesign to create your artwork.

Create Your Artwork

Set up your file in CMYK colour mode and follow these guidelines:

  • Create your design using vector artwork – no bitmap images
  • Save your file as a PDF using the PDF/X-1a:2001 preset
  • Flatten your artwork to a single layer (no transparencies)
  • Outline or embed all fonts
  • Don’t include any crop marks or printer marks
  • Set lines to at least 1.5pt
  • Use font sizes of at least 14pt
  • For light or decorative fonts, use a minimum of 28pt
  • Supply your design at the exact size of the print area – no bleed required

We ask that you supply your design as a PDF file.
