How to Apply Your DTF Transfers
Our DTF transfers work on cotton, polyester, and cotton/poly blends – as long as the fabric surface is smooth and even. For the most consistent, professional results, we recommend using a heat press, but smaller transfers can also be applied with a household iron if needed.
Applying DTF Transfers with a Heat Press
Pre-press the garment
Before applying the transfer, press the fabric for 5–10 seconds. This step removes any moisture and flattens out wrinkles, creating the ideal surface for adhesion.
Cut and position the transfer
Trim around the design if needed, then place the transfer ink side down (artwork facing the fabric) in the desired position.
Cover the design
Place a sheet of baking paper or a Teflon sheet over the transfer. This protects both the film and your heat press plate from damage.
Press with heat and pressure
Set your press to 150°C and apply medium pressure (around 3–4 bar) for 10–15 seconds. Ensure the press is evenly covering the entire transfer area.
Cool and peel
Allow the transfer to cool for 2–3 minutes (cold peel). Once cool, gently peel away the top film at a slow, even pace, revealing the finished design.
NOTE - For extra durability and a softer feel, you can cover the print with baking paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5 seconds. This helps the design bond even more securely to the fabric.
