Sizing can be tricky for paper and evnelope sizes in the UK. We have compiled a handy list of A paper sizes with their size including bleed allowing for a 6mm bleed on all sides:
What is an A1 in mm & cm?
A1 = 841mm x 594mm including bleed that works out at 846mm x 600mm
What is an A2 in mm & cm?
A2 = 594mm x 420mm including bleed that works out 600mm x 426mm
What is an A3 in mm & cm?
A3 = 297mm x 420mm including bleed that works out 303mm x 426mm
What is an A4 in mm & cm?
A4 = 210mm x 297mm including bleed that works out 216mm x 303mm
What is an 1/3 A4 in mm & cm?
1/3 A4 = 98mm x 210mm including bleed that works out 104mm x 216mm
What is an A5 in mm & cm?
A5 = 148mm x 210mm including bleed that works out 154mm x 216mm
What is an A6 in mm & cm?
A6 = 105mm x 148mm including bleed that works out 111mm x 154mm

What About Envelope Sizes? How Big Are They?
If you need an envelope size reference, we’ve got you… C sizes are paper sizes used for envelopes, designed to take ‘A’ sized paper.
C4 sized envelopes (324 x 229 mm) these are for unfolded pieces of A4 paper
C5 sized envelopes (229 x 162mm) these take an unfolded A5 piece of paper or an A4 folded in half in portrait orientation.
DL sized envelopes (220 x 110mm) these take an A5 folded in half in landscape orientation or an A4 folded into thirds like a concertina.
