What Is A Hickey?

A Hickey In Print Terms

In the printing world, a hickey is a blemish.  A hickey will present as a spot or an imperfection on a print job.  These blemishes are caused by dirt on the press such as dried ink skin, bits of deteriorating rubber or paper particles.  These almost imperceptible bits of debris stick to the print machinery and end up imprinted on the print job itself.
