What Is A Safe Zone In Printing?

What Is A Safe Zone & Why Do I Need It For Print?

A safe zone (or quiet border) is a clear area around your print job that shouldn't contain anything important such as text, images or logos.  If you stick to the rules and use a safe zone, you can rest assured that your important information won't be affected in the trimming process.  The safe zone sits inside the bleed.

What Size Should My Safe Zone Be?

Please include a quiet border of at least 3mm, but preferably 5mm, from the trimmed edge of your artwork. We also recommend all borders are at least 3mm but ideally 5mm wide. This avoids any part of your design appearing too close to the edge of the page and will give your job a more professional appearance.

For booklets, we recommend a 5mm (ideally 10mm) quiet border for a better finish.Quiet_border_and_bleed.jpg
