Why does my large format print look low quality? I supplied my file at 300dpi.
When creating large-format prints, we typically request artwork to be provided at a resolution of 150 DPI. If you submit files at a higher resolution, we might need to downscale the quality to 150 DPI to ensure it prints correctly on the chosen substrate.
Large print materials are commonly used for advertising and are intended to be viewed from a distance. When examined up close, the finer intricacies and quality of the design become apparent; however, as the viewer moves farther away, these subtleties become less noticeable.
It's essential to keep this aspect in mind when designing artwork for an audience that will primarily observe it from a distance, whether it's on a billboard or a poster displayed for passers-by. Balancing detail and clarity for both close and distant viewing is crucial to ensure the intended message and impact of the print are effectively communicated to the target audience.
