Why isn’t the black on my print as black as I thought it would be?

If you have a large area of black on your artwork, please add in 60% Cyan (C60 M0 Y0 K100) for a richer and darker printed black. As all inks are transparent, pure black ink can dry back and appear dark grey on larger solid areas.

Also, if your job is printed on uncoated paper, colours may also dry back and appear lighter when using black (K 100). We would not recommend printing large areas of solid black on uncoated paper.
