What Is Uncoated Paper?
Uncoated paper does not have a coating, meaning that it is just the natural, untreated paper stock you choose for your print job. Uncoated papers can be written on and overprinted so, are commonly used for letterheads and compliment slips.
You may hear uncoated paper referred to as bond which is used more in legal /financial circles and can be specialist. these are just synonyms. What you are getting with uncoated paper is an untreated, matt effect which will absorb the ink throughout the printing process leaving the colours a little darker and a little bolder. With an uncoated stock, you won’t get a shimmer or a sheen (unless you laminate where possible).
